Parking lot changes at Etobicoke General starting May 8

by Osler Staff | May 04, 2017

The expansion and redevelopment of Etobicoke General Hospital (EGH) continues as construction activity swings into high gear for the summer season.
The next phase of parking changes will begin on May 8, 2017 and will include the following:

  • Closure of 52 parking spaces in the Emergency Department short term patient/visitor parking lot (Lot F).

  • Closure of 12 parking spaces in the south staff parking lot (Lot I)

Providing safe vehicle and pedestrian access to the hospital is our top priority. To maximize safety:

  • Perimeter fencing will be placed around all construction activity

  • Additional designated pedestrian routes will be added around construction areas

  • Flagmen will be available to direct and manage construction vehicles and other traffic, and

  • Additional parking customer service agents will be on site to help direct staff, patients and visitors to appropriate parking areas.

To prepare for this phase, additional parking was added along the hydro corridor last year to offset these temporary closures and ease the impact on our patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
We are doing everything we can to make sure everyone has access to parking and to the hospital during construction. Thank you for your patience as we work to transform Etobicoke General.
