Lace up your sneakers and start stretching those leg muscles: this September, Osler Foundation is introducing a brand new event that encourages participants to ‘walk on’ for Etobicoke General.
The inaugural Osler’s Walk ‘n Roll for Healthy Kids, taking place Saturday, September 19, is a scenic five-kilometre walk along the Humber River that will support Etobicoke General’s many programs focusing on children’s and adolescents’ health and well-being. The event will bring together local families, students, business leaders and community members – as well as Osler physicians, staff and volunteers – for a family-friendly, fun-filled day of walking, rolling, food and festivities at Etobicoke General.
“We are very excited to launch our newest Signature Event in support of Etobicoke General: Osler’s Walk ‘n Roll for Healthy Kids,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, Osler Foundation. “Our friends and neighbours in Etobicoke have always been loyal champions of the hospital. The Walk will be a fun new way for them support Etobicoke General’s young patients while spending quality time exploring the Humber River trail with their friends, family and neighbours.”
Those interested in participating are invited to sign up as individuals or as a team. Osler’s Walk ‘n Roll will also encourage a little friendly competition with an internal Department Challenge for Osler staff and physicians, and a Corporate Challenge for our friends in the community.
Thanks to a generous time-limited matching gift challenge made by Orlando Corporation, every dollar raised will be matched through the $15 Million Matching Challenge.
