The time has arrived! Construction on the new Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness starts this summer.
That’s right: starting this summer, the Peel Memorial site on Lynch Street will be a hive of activity as Plenary Health – the team selected to design, build, finance and maintain the new hospital – begins construction on the future of health care.
Osler celebrated this momentous milestone at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 25, where it paid tribute to the vision and support of the community, the municipal and provincial governments, and the Osler staff, physicians and volunteers that helped bring a second state-of-the-art hospital to Brampton.
The new Peel Memorial will take a proactive approach to health care by concentrating on prevention and health maintenance – helping patients take care of their health so they won’t need to be hospitalized. Traditional and alternative health practitioners will work together under one roof to provide treatment for non-life threatening issues, day surgery, diagnostic imaging, management of chronic diseases, education and more – and all without overnight hospitalization.
