Neil Davis, a lifelong Brampton resident and passionate community leader and volunteer, is the recipient of William Osler Health System’s (Osler) Kay Blair Community Service Award. The Award was presented at Osler’s Annual General Meeting on June 25th.
Renamed this year in honour of Osler’s outgoing Board Chair and long-time hospital champion, Kay Blair, the award is presented to an individual who is dedicated and committed to serving the needs of Osler’s community, patients and families and who understands what it means to be compassionate, kind and understanding. The award acknowledges individuals who are able to embrace similarities, celebrate differences and consider fellow community members with an open mind and a willingness to assist with a caring and compassionate heart.
“Few people know the extent of the work Neil has done to ensure the citizens of Brampton and surrounding areas can receive the health care services they need close to home,” said Kay Blair, Chair, William Osler Health System Board of Directors. “His dedication, commitment and passion for his community is inspirational. He is a true representative of what this award stands for. I am proud to present this year’s Kay Blair Community Service Award to Neil Davis – a son of Brampton and a most deserving recipient.”
As a lawyer and partner of Davis Webb LLP in Brampton, Neil has also been an active member of the Board of Directors of William Osler Health System (since 2009) and has been instrumental in leading the charge for the redevelopment of Peel Memorial Hospital.
“Neil’s passion for advancing community health is now being realized through the vision for Peel Memorial,” said Matthew Anderson, President and CEO, William Osler Health System. “Thanks to his hard work and dedication, he has the pleasure of seeing his vision become reality with construction of the new hospital set to begin this summer. He is truly deserving of this award and we are honoured to have him as part of our Board, and as part of the Osler family.”
