Patient Tower slated for completion in 2019
• The Patient Tower: Inside and out, the four-storey patient tower is taking shape. The future emergency department entrance is visible; the big, light-enhancing windows are all installed; energy-saving ‘green’ roofs are already thriving; and a welcoming outdoor patio, on the lower level, promises respite and a pleasant view for patients having an outpatient procedure. Inside, the focus is on wall, ceiling and floor finishing. The tower is scheduled for completion in early 2019.
• Meanwhile, the Etobicoke Wellness Centre (EWC) has opened its doors. Many physicians moved their offices from the old Medical Office Building to the EWC in August 2018. Etobicoke General also moved some of its outpatient programs and services to the EWC toward the end of August 2018.
