The Division of Geriatrics at Osler is seeking a full time Associate Geriatric Physician.
The physician rotation comprises in patient on call coverage at Osler’s two acute sites (Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital) and outpatient clinic services to six sub specialized geriatric clinics at Peel Memorial. Physicians also provide clinical leadership to the geriatric outreach team and the NP led outreach to long term care homes. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work with a highly specialized multi-disciplinary team with a keen focus on seeking to define a centre of excellence for seniors care.
The post holder will join the division of Geriatrics (presently staffed by six Geriatricians) with exciting opportunities for clinical work at a time when innovative re-design and provision of new services are planned or taking place. The position requires excellent communication skills in English. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees.
Osler is an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine: Family Medicine program. It also provides clinical elective opportunities to Canadian undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. The preferred candidate would be expected to participate in teaching and seek an academic appointment with either the University of Toronto or McMaster University.
