Osler’s leading respiratory care and education helps  patients breathe easier and take control of their health

Most people take breathing for granted. It's second nature, an involuntary reflex. But for the thousands of Canadians who suffer from breathing problems, each breath is a major accomplishment.

Osler’s Respiratory Therapists use leading practices to evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.  They provide expert care and support in almost every area of the hospital, including the emergency departments, operating and recovery rooms, labour and delivery, in our diagnostic testing departments, and even in our patients’ homes.

Inpatient Unit

The Respirology/General Medicine unit cares for patients who have a variety of breathing-related problems, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pneumonia and tuberculosis.
