Elaine Andrews |
Elaine has been a member of PFAC since 2018. She joined PFAC after having to navigate the hospital system when her mother was admitted for a serious health issue. She believes that PFAC is helping to make a difference to the health care system. |
Susan Azzopardi |
Susan has been a member of PFAC since 2010. Prior to retirement, Susan worked for 23 year in the health care sector. She initially joined PFAC as a family member but since then, has become a patient. Her reason and purpose for joining is to advocate for Osler and provide changes which will enhance the image of its hospitals in the community. |
Sandra Crowe |
Sandra has been a member of PFAC since 2017. After retiring and serving 31 years as a nurse at Osler, Sandra wanted to remain connected to Osler. She has been a resident of Brampton for over 44 years and has had many personal experiences with the health care system, both as a patient and as a family member. Sandra wanted to offer her experience to help give back to the community. She is proud of the work Osler does and feels lucky to get to work with other wonderful and compassionate volunteers and hospital staff to make a difference. |
Nitin Deckha |
Nitin Deckha, PhD, has been a member of PFAC since November 2017. Nitin is an educator and learning consultant who teaches at the University of Guelph-Humber. Nitin joined PFAC as a family member to share his insights into elder care, both hospital and long-term, based on his parents' experiences. |
Moira Drybrough |
Moira had previously served as a member of the Peel Memorial Hospital Board and while on the Board, she initiated and chaired the Patient Experience Evaluation Committee. She was also appointed by Chinguacousy Council to set up the Chinguacousy Health Services Board (CHSB). She now serves as a member on PFAC. Her aim has always been to make the patient/hospital interface as satisfying an experience as it can possibly be. |
Elizabeth Ali Govia |
Elizabeth was motivated to become a PFAC member after hearing from the community, some of the advantages and disadvantages they encountered at Osler. She joined PFAC in 2017 to use her voice to make a difference with the way family and patients receive care. She is proud of Osler for the innovative ways they are implementing change and for putting its patients and their families at the forefront of their decision-making. Elizabeth is proud of the diversity of PFAC and the difference it is making in the way patients are care for. |
Monica Lobo |
Monica has been an active member of PFAC as well as the Women's & Children's Health Council since October 2017. Her role on these councils is to provide diversified perspectives, experiences and guidance to help shape, change and make a positive difference within the community. |
Kim McNamara |
Kim has been a part of PFAC as a family member for many years. She is able to bring the experiences with her mother and father as they journeyed through the health and long-term care systems. She endeavors to advise the council on compassionate, empathetic and respectful ideas, strategies and solutions that will enhance the patient experience at Osler. |
Gordon Newman |
Gordon has been a PFAC member since 2010 as both a family member and patient. He has participated in working groups for accreditation, strategic planning, recruitment and sit as PFAC representative on the clinical senior leadership team. Gordon has also been actively involved in the development of the Central West Ontario Health Team (CW OHT) application process. He sits on both the CW OHT Collaboration Committee and PFAC and has engaged with the province in training as an OHT coach. He joined PFAC after two years on the Community Advisory Council because he is interested in supporting action to improve the patient experience at Osler. |
Avtar Punia |
Avtar is a community representative and has been on PFAC since 2015. Avtar decided to get involved with the hospital after learning of challenges faced by the community. He is interested in helping to improve the patient experience and be a voice for those in the community. |
Hema Ramlochan |
Hema has lived in Peel Region for her entire life. She joined PFAC as an opportunity to give back to the community and to provide insight from her experiences within the health care system. She is a senior level human resources executive with more than 20 years of professional experience in both the private and public sectors, including unionized and non-unionized environments. This allows her to have a fulsome view of how decisions can effect all stakeholders. |
Arun Sharma |
Arun has been a PFAC member since 2013. During this time, he has become aware of the wide range of health care and medical services delivered by Osler and has seen these services be delivered with compassion by hospital staff and physicians alike. He regularly shares these experiences with his Etobicoke-based community, where a large number of senior citizens reside. In turn, he brings back the evolving needs, challenges and feedback of these communities for consideration and improvement of Osler's services. |
Sushma Sharma |
Sushma been a PFAC member since 2013. Sushma has enjoyed engaging with hospital staff and other members of PFAC, as it has enriched her understanding of hospital processes. She knows what it’s like to be a patient and what matters in that experience. Sushma is a firm believer of giving back to the community and offering her insights to benefit the hospital. |
Charan Singh |
Charan has been a member on PFAC since spring of 2019. Her role involves engaging with volunteers to offer suggestions on improving health care and customer service for Osler patients. Charan has lived in Peel Region for 40 years and has over 20 years of professional experience working with the community in relation to conflict resolution and mental health and addictions. Her reason for joining PFAC was to help enhance quality of service, connectivity and understanding with our stakeholders. |
Marjorie Taylor |
Marjorie has been a PFAC member since 2017 and Brampton resident for 39 years. She is a long-standing community volunteer, leader, and advocate who has worked in the health care for over 20 years. Marjorie’s reason for becoming a member of PFAC was to learn more about the hospital system from a patient/family and community perspective and to help promote the excellent care and service being provided by Osler as well as seek to contribute positively to discussions to enhance and support the health care system. |
