Osler Achieves Top National Recognition for Quality

Accredited with Exemplary Standing is the highest designation a Canadian hospital can achieve

November 12, 2025, BRAMPTON/ETOBICOKE – William Osler Health System (Osler) is proud to announce it has once again earned ‘Accredited with Exemplary Standing’ from Accreditation Canada for the second consecutive survey. This recognition is the highest possible designation in the country and reaffirms Osler’s commitment to safety, quality, and delivering world-class health care to the communities it serves.

Accreditation Canada is an independent, not-for-profit organization that sets standards and evaluates quality and safety in health care in Canada and around the world. The accreditation process is voluntary and achieving Exemplary Standing underscores Osler’s areas of excellence, as well as how it continues to advance quality and safety today and into the future.

Surveyors from Accreditation Canada evaluated the hospital system over a five-day on-site survey early in October 2025, and met with staff, physicians, volunteers and learners across all Osler sites. The surveyors praised Osler as “actively living and delivering on its Vision of world-class health care inspired by our people and communities across the system”, and highlighted a number of accomplishments, acknowledging that quality truly lives at Osler, and that a culture of safety is rooted in everything Osler does, from the bedside to the Boardroom. They also noted Osler’s people as compassionate, committed, dedicated and engaged, and that the inspiring culture of teamwork, collaboration and innovation at Osler is shaping the health of our communities today and into the future.

The back-to-back Exemplary Standing achievement marks a milestone in Osler’s quality journey. It reinforces Osler’s reputation as one of Canada’s leading hospital systems and underscores its promise to deliver the highest standards of health care for its growing community.
