Golf tournament raises more than $236,000 for health care in Brampton

Under sunny skies, the 2022 annual Osler Open: Brampton Invitational was a hole in one, with 144 golfers hitting the links in support of William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation). The sold-out event raised over $236,000 to help purchase critical surgical equipment for Brampton Civic Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness (Peel Memorial). This was the 15th annual event, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of Brampton Civic Hospital, which opened its doors in 2007.

The tournament was hosted at The Pulpit Golf Club (The Pulpit), described as ‘one of Canada’s most intriguing private clubs’ located in Caledon Village. After a shotgun start, golfers enjoyed a day of scramble play on the beautiful and exciting course, followed by a cocktail reception.

As we look forward to a new hospital for our growing community, we are grateful for the continued support of our sponsors, golfers, donors and volunteers to help meet the ongoing need for critical equipment at both Brampton Civic Hospital and Peel Memorial.”

The communities that Osler hospitals serve have been among the hardest hit by COVID-19. As Osler works to gradually and safely resume normal operations, the funds raised at the Osler Open: Brampton Invitational will support the Build Back, Together campaign to purchase essential surgical equipment such as surgical tables, anesthesia gas machines, laparoscopes and camera heads, and an AV surgical integration system.
