Osler invites residents to connect with hospital leaders at community Telephone Town Hall

Updates include latest hospital news and Osler’s exciting transformational journey

William Osler Health System (Osler) is inviting community members to participate in its next Telephone Town Hall on Thursday, May 23, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Osler’s senior leadership will bring the latest updates about Osler’s innovative clinical services and programs, and its exciting transformational journey. Participants will hear about progress on Osler’s future redevelopment plans including Brampton’s second hospital, expanded cancer care, Osler’s new research initiatives and more.

As always, participants will have an opportunity to provide feedback and direct questions to Osler’s leaders, as well as submit questions through Osler’s website both before and during the event.

Hosted by Dr. Frank Martino, Osler’s President and CEO, this live event will be moderated by Gurjit Kaur Bains, a member of Osler’s Patient and Family Advisory Council. They will be joined by Osler leaders including Pardeep Singh Gill, First Vice Chair and Treasurer, William Osler Health System’s Board of Directors; Tony Raso, Vice President, Clinical Services; Cathy Renaud, Vice President, Facilities Operations and Capital Development; Tiziana Rivera, Executive Vice President, Quality, Research and Chief Nursing Executive; Mary Jane McNally, Chief Patient Experience Officer; and Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, William Osler Health System Foundation. Special guest, Dr. Teresa Chan, Founding Dean (School of Medicine) and Vice-President (Medical Affairs), Toronto Metropolitan University, will also join to provide an update on the new School of Medicine in Brampton, of which Osler is the primary clinical partner.

“Our popular Community Telephone Town Halls are a valuable opportunity to connect with thousands of residents of Brampton, Etobicoke and surrounding areas,” said Dr. Frank Martino. “As Osler continues its exciting transformational journey, continuous dialogue with our community is vital to shaping our local hospital system. I encourage our community members to join the conversation and look forward to hearing insights and ideas from our community around our programs, services and initiatives.”

Gurjit Kaur Bains agrees. “I am an engaged resident of this community and value the open conversations between health care leaders and community members. Osler’s Telephone Town Halls provide valuable updates and are a wonderful opportunity for residents to ask questions and share their feedback with the hospital directly.”

How to participate: On Thursday, May 23, starting at 6:50 p.m., Osler will contact residents via landline to connect them directly to Osler’s Telephone Town Hall. Those interested in participating in the Telephone Town Hall can also pre-register and submit questions online or by leaving a voicemail with their name and phone number at (416) or (905) 494-2120 ext. 50200 before 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2023. Please note that the audio from the event will be recorded for promotional and archival purposes.
