Coronary Critical Care Unit (CCU)

This unit provides highly specialized cardiac nursing care for unstable patients with cardiac issues who need intensive nursing support.

Combined Intensive Care/Cardiac Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU)

At Etobicoke General, the Intensive Care Unit is combined with the Cardiac Critical Care unit.

Cardiac catheterization (cath) lab

Our cath lab offers:

24/7 regional heart attack team

If you come to us with a heart attack from a blocked coronary artery, we offer the safe and effective care you need.

Whether you arrive at Brampton Civic or Etobicoke General, you will bypass the Emergency Department and go straight to our Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Our cardiologists will use a balloon catheter and stent to quickly open the blocked artery.

Please note that patients at Etobicoke General are immediately redirected to Brampton Civic for this care.

Pacemaker program

This program offers implants and the monitoring of implantable electrical devices designed to pace the rate and rhythm of your heart.

Cardiac rehab clinic

This program serves people who:

have chronic heart disease;
have had heart surgery; or
have had a recent heart transplant

Our goal is to prevent the disease from progressing and avoid any repeat heart attacks. This program focuses on education, exercise and positive lifestyle choices. Learn more about this clinic.
