Critical Care

Our Critical Care Units serve patients facing immediate life-threatening health conditions. We work to improve their condition so their injuries or illnesses can be treated.

Our expert team includes:

  • critical care physicians (intensivists);
  • clinical services managers;
  • clinical nurse educators;
  • resource nurses;
  • nurses;
  • respiratory therapists;
  • pharmacists;
  • social workers;
  • physiotherapists/physiotherapist assistants;
  • dietitians;
  • clerical staff;
  • health care aides;
  • antimicrobial stewardship team members; and others.

Together they provide high-quality and safe critical care services around the clock, including ventilation support, dialysis and cardiac care.

Our team also works with critical care units across Ontario to ensure patients receive specialty services, when required. In addition, we partner with Headwaters Health Care Centre so that everyone across the Central West region has access to critical care.
