Osler welcomes new Board Chair and four new Board Directors during its Annual Meeting

Pardeep Singh Gill is appointed Chair and Treasurer of Osler’s Board of Directors

William Osler Health System (Osler) is pleased to announce that four new members joined its Board of Directors, and Pardeep Singh Gill was elected Chair and Treasurer of its Board of Directors during the health system’s Annual Meeting in June 2024.

“It is a great honour to serve our vibrant and growing communities as Chair and Treasurer of William Osler Health System’s Board of Directors,” said Pardeep Singh Gill. “Osler is embarking on one of the most exciting chapters in its history, with exciting developments on our horizon, including the transformation of Peel Memorial into Brampton’s new hospital, expanding access to cancer care, advancing the Osler Research Institute for Health Innovation, and partnering with Toronto Metropolitan University to open a new school of medicine.”

Mr. Gill joined Osler’s Board of Directors in 2018 and most recently served as First Vice Chair and Treasurer. He transitioned into the Chair role after Linda Franklin completed her term as Osler’s Chair of the Board in June 2024. Linda Franklin joined Osler’s Board of Directors in 2017 and her leadership has been instrumental as Osler embarked on its transformative journey. Linda will continue to bring outstanding leadership to the health system as Past Chair of Osler’s Board of Directors.

Four new Board Directors who bring extensive leadership experience and expertise to the organization and health system were also elected during the Annual Meeting.

• Melissa Carvalho – Vice President of Global Cyber Security Strategic Services, Royal Bank of Canada
• Benjamin D’Souza – Assistant General Manager, Massiv Automated Systems, Magna International Inc.
• Dr. Victor Ng – Assistant Dean, Distributed Education, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University; Associate Professor, Department of Medicine (Emergency Medicine), Western University; Associate Director, Programs and Practice Support, College of Family Physicians of Canada
