Summer Student Research Program Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Summer Student Research Program (SSRP) running this year?
I am in my Master’s program. Am I eligible to apply?
Unfortunately, no. This program is for undergraduate students only.
Are international students able to apply?
Yes. You must have a valid work permit that covers the duration of the Summer Student Research Program and be eligible to work 35 hours/week.
Are the positions paid or unpaid? Can I apply as a volunteer?
The program offers paid positions. If you would prefer to volunteer your time, please contact SSRP@williamoslerhs.ca.
Will I need a proof of immunization?
As per Osler policy, all summer students are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. During onboarding, a proof of other immunizations will be asked too including: Tuberculosis status, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B and Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis.
If you do not have a transcript from your current year, one from your previous year would be acceptable (e.g. you are in third year but sent second year marks).
When will I hear back from the program?
Due to the number of applications we receive each year, only those who are selected for an interview will be contacted.
Will I be able to pick a study project?
The researcher and summer students profiles will be matched by the SSRP based on the project requirements and students skills.
How can I give feedback about the SSRP?
At the end of the program you will be provided with a link to the feedback survey, which can be used to provide feedback about the SSRP.
